Got Aliens, Will Time Travel!
The Chaha Universe is unique because there is just so much there to discover. Just because you don't see everything right away doesn't mean it didn't take years to create. You'll still notice right away that it's vastly more comprehensive in many ways than a good number of similar franchises.
In the beginning you'll see a few stories set in universe that won't show you all of it at once. In fact the first one set in the near future when our past actions finally catch up with us. The wrong part of society destabilizes at the wrong time. There are mere glimpses of what could be Aliens, but nothing that will truly point you to what's hidden and lurking just beyond the surface. There is never any certainty of anything.
This has been done on purpose to get you to explore. I did that so that the side materials that explain how things really work in universe are compelling enough to almost become their OWN story. You see that in the Future World board and in the Game Scenario. This is done to get you to think about it. To talk about it. Characters you may see briefly mentioned show up much later in great detail and then the unexpected hits you from left field. A simple line if examined in detail early may provide a major clue to big events down the road. Lots and lots of stuff
There's stuff in there that will make people discuss and yes even debate on what might be going on. The major one is Aliens. I will say right now, there are Aliens in this story universe. However, how they manifest and how they relate to the stories told themselves is one of the biggest mysteries. It'll probably bug a lot of you for a while. Some of you will swear yes it's Aliens invading are while others will list 300 things of why it's just humans causing issues. Each group will be equally convinced they're right, and all for different reasons. Only later will you incrementally discover these things. In fact, you'll see events from one perspective for a while; become totally confident in what you think you know about the situation only to get invited later to discover another series. There you'll see things that occur around the original timeline of the first story; but this time from other perspectives.
If I'd go straight into the whole thing, all at once, you'd be completely overwhelmed with way too much new information. So you start slow. In a manner of speaking. Even though already quite a ride, Shattered isn't too overwhelming. You can actually relate to the situations and you can understand what's happening. In a story through time and space you'll appreciate something familiar to ground you and allow you to catch an idea of what you're dealing with in the long run. Don't want to wait for the books to come out, then hop on over to Samples and Snippets or check out the Future World section. That'll cover a good part of the basics of the setting / situation that you'll see in the Shattered series....
